How is taco bell cantina bowl
The test kitchen bowl most definitely had romaine. And looking at my pictures, there was one container for romaine and one for iceberg in the kitchen and what my local Taco Bell uses is iceberg. Someone forgot to tell my local Taco Bell. My local Taco Bell also served only a half tablespoon or so of the corn salsa. At the test kitchen, I got about four times that.
I have yet to try a different Taco Bell to see if other outlets are doing it differently. The Taco Bell test kitchen version of the Cantina Bowl was great. Eh, so-so. And I gave them three different shots at doing it right. One location, or even the same location at a different day or time, can yield drastically different results. Good review. IF i did not spend an unhealthy amount of time eating at our new local Chipotle, i might have enjoyed this.
Unfortunately, all i could think of while i chewed through it was how much i desperately wished i had been on the other side of town so i could have bought a Chipotle bowl. The biggest offenders were the rice and guacamole.
Both were underflavored and disappointing. Best way i can describe it is, it was like taco bells kitchen sink was scraped up and thrown on to a salad plate then served. Not what i was hoping for. I wish they would bring back their fiesta bowls instead, those were great. I ate the cantina bowl with chicken for my lunch yesterday and I thought it was delicious!
I will order it again! I actually like the burrito and the bowl. While both times I enjoyed the steak version and not the chicken, I admit that I like the flavoring of it all together. It reminds me of a restaurant, where they have the same flavorings called Cafe Rio. I enjoyed the salad more than the burrito however, but I was pretty amazed at how large the burrito was as well. Currently I live in Italy and there are no Taco Bells anywhere near where I live, so it was nice to come to the states and see the cantina being offered, trying it and liking it.
I have tried the Chicken Cantina Bowl and like it very much and would recommend it to everyone for them to form their own opinion as my opinion differs from the writer of this article. The radical transformation continues with the addtion of the straight to full time menu Cantina Bell menu line. The likes of Qdoba and Chipotle have been running wild with fresh ingredients, exorbitant prices, and excessive trips to the bathroom for years, but Taco Bell is ready to cut in on their sales.
Rolling in with a respectable Calories and 22 grams of fat, the Cantina Bowl could offers a very exotic and enticing meal option while not destroying your life. As you can see from the pictures, the display comes off quite well, despite being constructed by some clearly confused employees. It took a considerable amount of time to get our order filled with the new items and ingredients being implemented. The affair, held at Garcia's midtown Miami studio, was stellar. From the complimentary valet parking to the bartender serving cilantro-infused cocktails, the evening was five-star.
Garcia's test kitchen was turned into a dining room worthy of any South Beach hotel. White linens, crystal, and purple orchid centerpieces graced the long communal table, with hostess Garcia at the head of the table. Imported still water and fine wine was poured as Garcia welcomed us to dinner.
Then came the appetizers. A plate with three white ramekins arrived at each table, accompanied by tortilla chips. Inside the little porcelain cups? Guacamole, pico de gallo, and fire-roastd corn salsa. This was no ordinary dinner by a celebrity chef. This was a first taste of the Taco Bell Cantina Menu. The new menu, which launches nationwide on Thursday, July 5, consists of only two items. A Cantina bowl and a Cantina burrito. Each can be ordered with your choice of protein -- citrus-marinated chicken, vegetable, or steak.
